ABOUT THE COLLECTION:
One of the best parts of living in the United States is being able to enjoy all four seasons, something I was never able to do in Guatemala, which has only a wet winter and a dry summer. Spring is one of my favorite times, with its refreshing mornings and bursts of color. It is a wonderful season to enjoy the beautiful symmetry and design of Washington, D.C.
FROM THE ARTIST:
I was born in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. I came to the United States in 2006 in search of a better life and have worked in the hospitality industry since I arrived. In 2015, I proudly joined the team at GCDC Grilled Cheese Bar in Washington DC.
I’m a self-taught amateur photographer. I learned the basics by reading articles and books, by watching instructional videos, and by observing and talking to other photographers. I started with a simple DSLR and now use a Sony mirrorless camera.
I’m an outdoors guy, and so I love to explore DC on foot and on my bike during all four seasons, looking for the perfect shot! I hope you like my work as much as I like creating it. My latest exhibition was at the National Portrait Gallery where my work was showcased for a day.
I’m super excited about this exhibit and thankful to my boss Bruce Klores, and to my family and friends for encouraging me. 10% of the sales from this show will be donated to Hogar de Nino Minusvalido Hemano Pedro in my home town which provides food and clothing to kids with disabilities.
